The ruins of the medieval parish church which mark the site of an early church or monastery are adjacent to the modern Catholic church and graveyard, in the townland of LISMONAGHAN. There is also a holy well, known as ST NAWLEY’S WELL. The parish of Kinawley has a portion in the barony of KNOCKNINNY and also in the barony of TULLYHAW in Co. Cavan [Cell Naíle c.1170].
