The village of Derrynoose is partly in the townland of MULLYARD and partly in CROSSNAMOYLE. The site of the medieval church is marked by the ruins of a church built c.1622 in the townland of LISTARKELT.           The parish is sometimes known as Maddan which is the site of the present Church of Ireland church [Derenoysse 1427].
