Mullies, County Fermanagh

Origin

Ir.Mullach ‘hilltop, summit’ + E. -s (plural)

Background

The plural form of the Irish element mullach ‘summit’ is mullaigh. In the current townland name, there seems also to be an attempt to render the name plural with the addition of the English plural suffix -s.

There is another townland named Mullies in the parish of Kinawley.
